1st place Hawaii and microlot division! In July 2025, Uluwehi Coffee Farm entered the 16th Annual Statewide Cupping Competition with 2 washed and parchment dried SL34 lots using 2 different yeast.
The first lot of SL34 took 1st place for Hawaii and 1st place for microlot. It used a wine yeast and scored 87.29. The cup was crisp, clean, balanced, vibrant, complex, delicate and smooth with notes of caramel, orange blossom, pineapple and mango.
The second lot used a beer yeast and took 9th place in the creative division.It scored 86.16. The cup was juicy, bright, syrupy, structured and creamy with notes of sugar cane, chocolate, peach and star fruit.
Ou red bourbon also made 2nd place for the people’s choice award. It was also a washed and parchment dried lot. Our red bourbon is well know for a cup that is smooth, balanced, complex and delicate with notes of chocolate and caramel.
